NEW for 2019/2020 we are now the proud owners of one of the first Matrix Metallic Laminators/Foilers in the country!
So what does this mean?
For over the past 20 years we have specialised in hot foil printing, which uses traditional, handheld machines. The accusation of the new Matrix Metallic Laminator and Hot Foiling machine now adds a whole new dimension to our services.
How it works:
The Matrix machine is a semi-automated model that allows us not only to laminate our products with either a gloss, matt or soft-touch laminate. But also allows us to create a foil effect on top of the laminate by foiling over black toner.
BUT, this is where the machine differs, we can also foil directly onto the board WITHOUT laminate.
This not only cuts out a whole process but also enables us to foil onto matt surfaces directly. Such as GF Smith board without the use of a foiling plate.

So what is the difference?
Applying foil without the need for a metal foiling plate enables us to be quicker and more cost-effective – not only for ourselves but for our customers.
Are there any limitations?
Whilst we can achieve different foil effects, the Matrix is unable to create an embossed or debossed effect, but this can still be achieved using traditional hot foiling methods. Foil print on the Matrix does give excellent flat coverage though. Substrates able to go through the machine include various thickness of paper and card.
For all other materials, such as boxes, plastic cards and leather Items, we would still be able to use a traditional hot foiling machine.
